Sixty Hives Across the Intervale

Marit and Joel Tremblay keep sixty hives on thirty acres of wildflower meadow and three river farms north of downtown. Every jar is spun in our barn the week it comes off the hive, raw and never heated past hive temperature.

“My kids still talk about holding a frame of bees with Joel. We drove home with a jar they spun themselves and it was gone by Tuesday.”

Hannah, Old North End

“The fall honey is the only thing my dad will put in his coffee now. I buy it by the case in October.”

Luis, South End

“We gave the adopt-a-hive share as a wedding gift. Every month there's a new photo of ‘their’ bees on the fridge.”

Priya and Sam, Winooski

Asked at the Counter

Anything else? Call or text the farm at (802) 555-0136. Marit or Elsa will answer.

Call or text us

Is it really raw?

Yes. We spin and strain it in the barn and never heat it past hive temperature, 95°F, so the pollen and the flavor stay in the jar.

Why did my honey turn solid?

Raw honey crystallizes. It is not spoiled, it is doing what raw honey does. Set the jar in warm water for twenty minutes and it comes back.

Can babies have honey?

Not under one year old, raw or otherwise. Everyone else, help yourself.

What if I'm scared of bees, or allergic?

The bees are calm and the veils work. Anyone allergic to stings skips the open hive and watches our glass observation hive in the shop, 4,000 bees behind glass.

How old do kids need to be?

Eight and up for the hive tour, with an adult. Younger kids are welcome at the shop and the observation hive.

Do you ship?

Anywhere in the US, for a flat $9 a box. Call or text and we'll send it the same week.

Ready to Buzz In?
